Where we go
Every district.
We drive, you don’t.
Nine districts, named — with the suburbs inside each one.
Nine districts, and the suburbs inside each one.
Tutors travel to the house across the whole of the ACT and into Queanbeyan. Every district below has its own page, because what families need in Gungahlin is genuinely not what they need in Woden Valley.
Belconnen
Three public colleges — the most course choice in Canberra, and the most to weigh up.
Aranda, Bruce, Charnwood, Cook, Evatt, Flynn, Fraser, Giralang, Hawker, Higgins, Holt, Kaleen, Latham, Lawson, Macgregor, Macquarie, McKellar, Melba, Page, Scullin, Spence, Weetangera
Gungahlin
The youngest district in the territory. Mostly primary reading and primary maths.
Amaroo, Bonner, Casey, Crace, Forde, Franklin, Gungahlin, Harrison, Jacka, Kenny, Moncrieff, Ngunnawal, Nicholls, Palmerston, Taylor, Throsby
Inner North
Apartment tables, and families arriving mid-year on posting.
Ainslie, Braddon, Campbell, Dickson, Downer, Hackett, Lyneham, O’Connor, Reid, Turner, Watson
Inner South
Entrance exams, scholarship testing and senior pathway planning.
Barton, Deakin, Forrest, Griffith, Kingston, Narrabundah, Parkes, Red Hill, Yarralumla
Woden Valley
The senior years, and the ACT Scaling Test explained properly.
Chifley, Curtin, Farrer, Garran, Hughes, Isaacs, Lyons, Mawson, O’Malley, Pearce, Phillip, Swinger Hill, Torrens
Weston Creek
One public high school, and one very visible Year 7 transition.
Chapman, Duffy, Fisher, Holder, Rivett, Stirling, Waramanga, Weston
Molonglo Valley
The fastest-growing district, with no college of its own yet.
Coombs, Denman Prospect, Molonglo, Whitlam, Wright
Tuggeranong
Twenty-two kilometres out, and yes — we drive it.
Banks, Bonython, Calwell, Chisholm, Conder, Fadden, Gilmore, Gordon, Gowrie, Greenway, Isabella Plains, Kambah, Macarthur, Monash, Oxley, Richardson, Theodore, Wanniassa
Queanbeyan
New South Wales. The HSC, not the ACT certificate — a different system entirely.
Queanbeyan, Queanbeyan East, Queanbeyan West, Karabar, Crestwood, Jerrabomberra, Googong, Bungendore
Where a session actually happens.
Lessons run at the kitchen or dining table, never in a bedroom, with a parent or responsible adult home and the space quiet and well lit for the hour.
Every tutor and teacher holds a current ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration. Anyone tutoring across the border in Queanbeyan holds a NSW Working with Children Check as well — the two schemes are separate and neither covers the other. Ask for the number before the first lesson and it will be provided.
Travel is one of four things that set a quote, alongside year level, whether the lesson is delivered by a tutor or a qualified teacher, and how many lessons a week. More on pricing.
Where an in-home slot is genuinely hard to fill, online tutoring covers the same ground with the same tutor each week. In-home tutoring explains how matching works.
Questions about coverage
Which parts of Canberra do you cover?
All nine districts: Belconnen, Gungahlin, the Inner North, the Inner South, Woden Valley, Weston Creek, the Molonglo Valley, Tuggeranong and Queanbeyan. Each has its own page listing the suburbs. Online tutoring is available anywhere.
Do you charge extra for travel?
Travel is one of the four things that set a quote, alongside year level, whether the lesson is delivered by a tutor or a qualified teacher, and how many lessons a week. The quote is given once, on the phone, and does not move afterwards.
Do you tutor outside the ACT?
Yes. Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, Googong and Bungendore are covered in home, and online reaches further — including Murrumbateman and Yass. NSW students sit the HSC rather than the ACT certificate, and both systems are tutored.
Does a parent need to be home?
Yes, a parent or responsible adult is home for every in-home session, and sessions never take place in a student's bedroom.
