We engaged Canberra Tutoring for my children as they entered year 11 and 12 and then university. I have been very happy with their help, through Wayne, for the last couple of years. Wayne has been an enormous help, sourcing the right kind of tutor for their needs while also being flexible in working around odd hours and commitments. Emily and Sarah are having their last session together this afternoon, which has prompted me to email you to thank you for introducing Sarah to us. You have a gift with selecting just the right people to help our children, firstly with Meredith for Renee, which was brilliant, and then Sarah for Emily. Sarah has worked absolute wonders with Emily over the past two years. She has turned her into an A student in both English and History and within Emily’s cohort at Radford College that is an outstanding achievement.
Throughout High School Emily loved History, but was never able to do very well for one reason or another. At Radford they rotate History and Geography, so from Years 7-10 they would do History one semester and Geography the next. So neither subject was continuous throughout the year. Emily found this difficult. I recall when she started Senior School after choosing to do History. Emily came home from her first senior History lesson to tell me. “Mum you have got to get me out of there. I have no idea what they’re talking about.” Of course Emily couldn’t change out of History so we emailed you. From those first days of year 11 to this, Sarah has turned Emily completely around. We are so very grateful to you and Sarah for this wonderful achievement. Thanks so much.
I just wanted to take the time to let you know how wonderful Kathryn is with Catie. Today I got home and as I suspected they were deep in their one on one with a particular aspects of Maths. What I didn’t expect to see was the happiness factor that Cate was displaying.
I moved to Canberra ahead of Cate, settling in to my new job and as soon as I was able to find a house to rent we were able to move forward with placing Cate in to her new school. Cate started 2 weeks ago and every morning and night has been filled with tears, upset conversations and terse moments between us as to whether she would go to school that particular day or not. The stress she has been under is huge and I have never seen her this worried, upset and fearful. Neither of us have had a decent nights sleep in this time.
Today, for the first time since before I made the decision to move Cate out of Geelong, I saw happiness in her smile. The positive effect Kathryn has had on Cate with one session is phenomenal. Anyway, I am sure you know what I am trying to say. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. For the first time in a long while I feel this move may in fact work out for us.
